YWCA Nashville

President/COO: Marjorie K. Eastman

Are you looking for a unique way to give back and make a difference this holiday season? The YWCA – one of our favorite non-profits, offers a variety of meaningful ways to make an impact in our local community. Marjorie K. Eastman, President and COO of the YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, is particularly excited about one of its newest philanthropic endeavors, 2616 Women’s Resale Boutique.

Located at 2616 Gallatin Pike in the heart of East Nashville, the social enterprise boutiMain FB Imageque was created to generate revenue to help fund needed community services. 2616 sells gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories with all of the profits benefiting Dress For Success and other YWCA programs. In conjunction with supporting different facets of the community, the store allows people to make donations and purchase high-quality items at reasonable costs. The tagline “great brands, great prices, great cause” epitomizes their mission, and is what has made them such a success. Every day, donations from high-quality brands filter into the store, adding an element of surprise to the inventory. With the spirit of merging community with a higher cause, 2616 is the ideal place for finding reasonably priced holiday gifts that make a difference.

A former intelligence officer and commander for the United States Army, Marjorie has a history of pursuing opportunities that make a difference for the greater good. What she loves most about her role at the YWCA is the ability to make such an enormous impact at a non-profit with over 100 years of existence in Nashville. “It completely resonates with me to help women and eliminate racism,” she says. “And no day is the same when helping with such an amazing mission.”

YWCA_Alt_MT_persm_pms1In conjunction with social enterprises like 2616, the non-profit hosts year-round fundraising events to benefit the community. This year, they will host their Wine, Women & Shoes event at the Omni Hotel on February 27 – a beautiful afternoon of wine tasting, boutique shopping and great vendors. Tickets to the event would make for a wonderful Christmas gift for a girlfriend or family member, and all the proceeds go to their cause of empowering women and eliminating racism.

They will also be hosting a special event on February 6 in conjunction with the boutique’s namesake – 2616. Be sure to follow the YWCA on social media for forthcoming details!
