Something Chic Boutique
LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: Something Chic Boutique
Owner: Rachel Watts
Are you looking to spruce up your wardrobe with elegant pieces, without spending hours navigating long lines and shopping mayhem? Meet Rachel Watts, owner of Something Chic Boutique, an online women’s store that features unique fashion at a reasonable price.
As a college student, Rachel worked for the Gap and interviewed to work for their headquarters in San Francisco. A portion of the interview process required her to create and present her own clothing line, where she quickly realized her love for business and fashion. After a career in banking, working as a business banking officer and creating successful plans to help small businesses grow, Rachel felt that building a company of her own was a feasible goal. Fate turned her business goals into an online store, when the physical location for its inception was put on hold.
The result is Something Chic Boutique, an online store that opened on May 1st of this year, and has already garnered 17,000 Instagram followers, more than 5,000 Facebook likes, and a customer base that spans 31 states. “The growth has been tremendous,” says Rachel. “I wasn’t afraid to invest in my brand and my vision. I wanted to go all in.”
With an audience mostly comprised of young women in their teens and early twenties, Something Chic Boutique features beautiful clothing with unique romantic details, from lace and crochet to classic bows, adding that “sweet southern touch.” Rachel and her team purchase their clothing from quality wholesalers, where the material and patterns are high-end quality, but the prices fit into a reasonable budget. Most of the clothing sold through the boutique is priced between $25-50, offering sophisticated fashion at a practical price. Rachel handpicks every item that she sells on her website; selecting classy, individualistic pieces that her customers will truly love.
Something Chic Boutique differs from other online boutiques through their emphasis on personal touch and customer service. Even without a physical store, Rachel strives to respond to each and every one of her customer’s comments and emails within 15-minutes. As a businesswoman and fashion enthusiast, she thrives on the relationships that her store creates. “It’s all about that little extra effort that makes an ordinary shopping experience something memorable and personal,” says Rachel.
Right now, Something Chic Boutique is featuring a huge sale on summer apparel from 50-75 percent off. The sale will run until all items are gone. Visit their website to check out their sale items and be sure to connect with them on Facebook!
