LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: Randy Moore
Music Entertainer, Johnny Cash Tribute Artist
One of the best parts of living in the Nashville area is the opportunity to witness some of the most talented musicians in the world pay tribute to the city’s greatest legends. Superb artists from everywhere flock to Music City as to absorb its rich musical history and show off their skill. Meet Randy More, one of the city’s premiere music entertainers and “Johnny Cash Tribute” artists. A Texas native, Randy Moore merges incredible talent and unparalleled entertainment, making him one of Nashville’s staple musical performers for the past twenty years.
For Randy, his inception as a musician began at an early age, with a drive to express himself through art. “I started playing music because everyone else was playing football,” he says. “That was the only way I could get girls to pay attention to me.” About three years after learning the craft, he began to write his own music, and his talent caught the attention of many, including his musical mentor the late Carl Perkins. Over the course of his career, Randy has opened concerts for a plethora of artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Hank Williams Jr., and Vince Gill, just to name a few.
While working at Opryland, Moore began cultivating his skill as an impersonator – his entertaining and accurate tributes to the legendary Johnny Cash garnered an exceptional response. Carl Perkins, who wrote “Blue Suede Shoes,“ encouraged him to continue exploring this talent, and since then, Moore has found enormous success with his tribute performances.
For Randy, the best part of his career is the ability to use music to brighten someone’s day. “It’s an escape from your everyday life,” he says. “Music makes people feel good. When people ask me what I do, I get to say, ‘I make people feel better, that’s what I do.’” You can see him perform across the city- he plays at Margaritaville on Sundays and Wednesdays, at Bootleggers on Mondays and Thursdays, and with his band, Randy Moore & The Fabulous Suedes, at the popular downtown venue ACME. Moore also provides unique entertainment for private events. To book a performance, reach out to him at email@example.com.
“In March I hosted a group of 44 people for a retreat in Nashville. Randy Moore, posing a singing hitchhiker, serenaded them all the way to Lynchburg. He did quite a range of songs and was most entertaining. The entire group was very complimentary of his voice and his music. Randy has a unique talent and is a genuinely nice guy. I recommend you check him out for your next event.” ~ Julie Hullett
