Batch

LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: Batch

CEO: Sam Davidson

Have you ever wished that you could send a unique gift to a friend or client that showcased the best that Nashville has to offer? Now you can. Meet Sam Davidson, CEO of Batch, a company that delivers monthly subscriptions and customized curated gifts for companies, events and weddings, all with high-quality, handcrafted items that folks love.

In 2013, Sam Davidson wanted to send a gift to some friends in Colorado, and scoured the city for local items that would represent his home. Failing to find an appropriate gift online, he began discussing the breadth of locally crafted items in Nashville with his two friends, Stephen Moseley and Rob Williams. Together they started pondering how they could share these goods with people across the nation, and decided to offer monthly subscriptions where consumers would receive four or five products each month, highlighting the best of what Nashville has to offer.

For those who subscribe, the products delivered remain a surprise, until it shows up on their doorstep, including everything from salsa to chocolate, popcorn, soap, and candles,” says Sam. “Each item we select must be a quality product, made in Nashville, and have a unique story that we can share with customers.” Batch also takes corporate orders, in which companies can customize and personalize the gifts that they send.

What makes Batch so unique? They were one of the first subscription model companies to key in a location- sending the essence of a city to various recipients across the globe. But even with their massive clientele, they’ve maintained handcrafted and artisan branding, remaining true to the integrity of the local goods they sell.

With Batch’s success in Nashville, they have recently expanded to Memphis and Charleston, and will soon open an online location in Austin. On November 1st, Batch will also have its own retail store at the Farmer’s Market here in Nashville – an exciting bit of news for the company’s thousands of dedicated subscribers, and for the many purveyors with whom they work. For Sam, the company’s instant success testifies to Nashville’s popularity. “It’s a Nashville spotlight and we are proud to share products from our city,” he says.
